Any dsm guy would have noticed in the first movie as soon as he poped the hood and we got a little glance, that the car was fwd and had the poopy 420a motor in it.

About 3 years ago we had one like it come through our shop.
We gave this one the power to back it up atleast. 
Built 6 bolt, 4G63T....etc.
It got alot of looks around here, that's for sure and if you can believe it...the owner was a cop, no older than 30. haha. We gave him quite the hard time with the Paul Walker jokes. haha.

Wow, that's embarassing... and even though the movie one is the stock non-turbo... even my stock non-turbo ran 16.2 at best, and usually around the 16.4 range... and it's not like I'm a super-skilled driver...

I thought Frankie Muniz (malcom from malcom in the middle) bought that car at some charity auction....
Either way, they made more than one of it for filming purposes and they aren't going to build all out versions 10 times over...

wow you guys realize that this was for a MOVIE. In movie land you dont have to have a fast car. In real people world if you were to race a TSI, depending on mods, you would be in for a challeange.
Its pretty funny how everyone was so surprised how its a non turbo eclipse.
Ohh I almost forgot, news flash, the white jetta was slow a fVck too OMFG@$%#@
